job vacancy: account manager (ref. AM 04/2008)

 

bit10 is looking for a talented, high performance sales and account management professional to join its Account Management Team.  You would be part of a dynamic, talented and fast-paced team working as an Account Manager for a wide range of private and public sector clients.  You would have the opportunity to work with all sides of the business, in a highly driven and innovative environment.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the role would be split between:

  1. New business development — ensuring a steady flow of new business through your sales pipeline from initial prospecting to deal closure.
  2. Account management — generating follow-on work and referrals from existing customers to extend the scope and range of work we do with them and ensure we maintain excellent relationship and maximise our revenue and profits from them.

Our salary package and commission structure are competitive and are supported by a flexible benefits scheme and pension (OTE up to £30,000 pa including pension and benefits).  In addition, you would automatically be enrolled on our continuing professional development (CPD) programme.  This ensures that we understand where your career is going so you get the training and development support you need.  The programme will support you through your entire career with bit10.
The position is based at our Coventry offices on the University of Warwick Science Park.

Requirements

We are looking for an aspiring sales professional with a successful track record of circa 1 year in the digital media solutions (or related) sector.  A solid understanding of selling Internet systems (from consultancy to application development and support) is important but not essential as full training will be given.  Above all, you will need a passion and drive to meet targets, generate profits, break new ground and maximise the return on the investment you make into your client portfolio.
If you’re the right person you will be able to demonstrate the qualities required to gain proficiency in the following areas:

  1. Prospecting, engaging and closing new business opportunities.
  2. Creating appropriate and high-quality bids with a track-record for conversion to business won.
  3. Building and maintaining client relationship leading to high-levels of return custom.
  4. Working effectively with others in the business to understand what can and should be offered.
  5. Forecasting and delivering to sales targets based on both profit and volume.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following general skills:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in particular negotiation and objection handling, with a wide range of different types of personalities and organisations.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of the Internet and digital media solutions sector (including common platforms, technologies and solutions) and an ability to keep up-to-date with the changing landscape.
  3. Both self-management and team working skills, including work planning and knowledge sharing.
  4. Enthusiasm for identifying and taking advantage of new opportunities, particularly in challenging but extremely rewarding environments.

You will also need a full, preferably clean, driving licence and your own transport.
Finally, you will need to be driven, committed and hardworking and enjoy working in a fast-paced and leading edge environment selling complex and high profile projects for a diverse range of clients.
